Overview

Over 18 months, we launched one master brand site, two AI products, and relaunched four digital subscription sites.

We redefined the digital benchmark across LIONS, created a scalable system that supports an infinite number of brands, and adjusts to unique needs.

Role: Head of Design LIONS Intelligence

In 2025 I was asked by CDO to head up the biggest digital project to date:
Create a white-label front end infrastructure that supports the growing suite of
subscription sites and brands.

Oversaw the project from the conceptual stages, through to release..
Leading a small team of designers embedded across 4 engineering squads, rethinking and reworking every feature and flow, ensuring that brands didn't lose touch with their existing users.

Challenge

Aligning the experience and stakeholders

on a new approach across taxonomy, experience, and design.

Presenting each major milestone, supported by data and insight or research where possible, we worked feature by feature, understanding what a single solution looks like.
In parallel, we rebuilt the design system to better support the multi-brand approach, and enable more flexibility to allow brands to express their unique styles.

Challenge

The design challenge was twofold: Creating a unified LIONS experience for it's growing suite of sites.

Through growth and acquisition LIONS was growing it's content portfolio, with WARC, Contagious, The Work, and Effie all now housed under the LIONS Intelligence pillar.

LIONS biggest digital project to date, involved aligning the tech architecture, bringing all the sites onto a single UMS, CMS, and supporting design system.

Asked by LIONS CDO to head up the design efforts across the initiative, leading a small team across Design System, Core expereince.

I lead the creation of a single solution that could house each brand and a system that catered for every experience.

Over 18 months, we delivered a suite of LIONS guidelines, layouts, templates, patterns, components, that any LIONS brand (current and future) can plug into.
